Maineguy 8888 muses:

"For the last week, wind chills have generally been colder downstate than up here (especially bad around Fryeberg/Berlin NH)."

I have occasion to fly from Newport, NH to central Maine. I pass southeast of Mt Washington. When the prevailing wind is from the west or northwest, there are some impressive downdrafts. Full power and half flaps are not enough to overcome it in a Skyhawk. To get out of it you must go south or southeast. Bumpy ride. First time I had it happen I thought I had rime ice in the carb.

Models trended closer to coast but far enough not to make it rain or mix. This means blizzard likely for coastal areas. Winds will ramp up. Maybe 20+ foot seas in the Atlantic. Big storm.

Then the next arctic blast comes in. Hope nobody lose power with this storm!

Expected snow fall and high end as of 4 am. These numbers may still prove to be low for many areas.
