What do we all do for Recreation/activities in the maine winter?

I like to snowmobile, and ice-fish, , and use the atv's

when my son was young, we use to go sliding down some big hills,,that was fun, and of course we liked to snowmobile,

Any local festivals/events that you attend every winter?

Thinking of taking that horse and sleigh ride in Bradley at Leonard's Mills tomorrow. They usually have it every other Sunday in January and February - weather permitting. I better call to be sure as it could be on the 23rd.

sleigh rides for the public?

what a great idea- I bet kids love that too

In the fall when we go apple-picking at the orchards, they have horse drawn wooden flatbeds on wheels-everyone piles on- to bring us to the apple trees to start picking..
something about horses,,everyone seems to like them!

I've been ice fishing and snowmobiling today. We also snowshoe and slide. I'm sure I've forgotten something but after a day in the falling snow, ice fishing, and snowmobiling, the fire is warm and I'm sleepy.

I live on a pond, many people ice fish- I use to look out the window to see if the flag is tripped

Two eagles are around to eat the fish, people throw on the ice,,one of these eagles is huge-he landed last summer on my neighbors lawn-usually he keeps his distance- the geese took off in a hurry
even the crows, take off at first sight of him

I use to rough it on other lakes when younger and damn near got frost bit once,, I Learned from that

So good it kept my daughter's fiance busy on his first ice fishing trip. The first two hours flew by.

Cusk. Dead bait on the bottom in deep water does the trick. Ugly fish but they taste good. Are you fishing this year?
