Wait til tomorrow when it's supposed to hit 50 in some areas.

Then Old Man Winter wakes up with a vengeance. I watch "The Farm Report" most Sundays at 5 AM. Their long range weather forecast is usually accurate. They predict the next 90 days will have temperatures below normal and precipitation above normal.

After tomorrow, that is; Enjoy.

Bright sunshine and 50 degrees at noon in the Greater Lincoln meteroplex. I'll check with the NWS later for any record reports.

BTW, It isn't global. They have record cold in California and Russia.

I was in beautiful downtown Lincoln today. I rode home with the sunroof open, the sun shining on me, 50*, sunshine and The Mountain blasting "oldies" from when I was in high school. I enjoyed the last part of January thaw but I'm ready for winter to come back.

I was in a snowmobile dealership this morning and heard a funny story. I suppose if you drive on the ice it's not so funny. Over the weekend a man drove his truck onto the ice and parked. It dropped through the top layer of ice, through 4" of water, and sat on the firm foot of ice. And there it still sat this morning because it can't gain enough traction to move itself. It was going to be towed off some time today. Nobody would tell me who or where because I write for the newspaper (I would not have written this story anyway but they weren't talking.) but they sure had a good laugh about it.
