Hello all. My husband and I are looking to move to Maine this next June. I need some advice. I am a Medical Laboratory Technologist and would need to be near a hospital. We are looking for an area that is not to much like city life but yet not to far away either. We like the mountains but yet don't want to be extremely far from the ocean either. Could anyone help me??? I would be forever greatful. Thank you so much. Jessie

Hello Jesse and welcome to the forum. Windham or Raymond might be a good place for you, there are 2 hospitals in Portland, one in Bridgton and 2 in Lewiston - all within 45 minutes.

Maine has now closed the gates,.. we have enough people now so we will not be taking any more immigrants. We like the housing cheap, we like the privacy without gated communities, we like things laid back and appreciate knowing who our neighbors are. We don't like to hurry to make others (those from away) happy. We like the idea that we can actually STOP at a red light or sign without being honked at or flipped off. If you do choose to come here, try to fit into the community, don't expect the community to change to fit you. Now, this is all in jest,... isn't it?

So am I going to have to get Molly to come pick me up and sneak me in across the bridge? M - you'd better bring David. We may need a lookout to pull this off!

lol El!!! You wanna be an Illegal? I was joking,.. but it was after going to the store and a "Lady" (a term I use loosely in this instance) from Ct. was being rather uppity,.. complaining about how "they don't have this, they don't have that" and then being nasty because it took too long to ring her up. She's looking for a "summer house". I hope she finds it elsewhere.

MSINA, We have a lot of uppity people that move to this area too. So I really know how they can be. I am a real people person and am excited to move to a new area and meet new people. Hope you will accept me. Thanks for all the advice! Jessie
