Anyone out there know of a rental for RN coming for 13 week (minimum) assignment? It sounds so nice, I may want to stay.

What time of year? If it's in season (May-Sept), the rent will likely be of the charts expensive, but in the off-season you would do better in price. Many short-term rentals that are available during the warmer months are not available during the winter because they have not been insulated against the Maine winter. If you are going to be at MDI Hospital, you may also want to look at housing in Trenton or even Ellsworth and it's surrounding small towns and commuting to the island. Most people that work on MDI (the hospital, Jackson Lab, Hinckley Boat) can't really afford to live there, unless they have inherited a family home from a relative, or bought it a very long time ago. Unless, of course, you are a millionaire nurse.

However, I'm sure checking with some of the local real estate agencies might turn up something that would be acceptable. You can also try the Bar Harbor Times and the Ellsworth American newspapers.

Excellent time for a rental. You could actually get a house sitting arrangement where you just pay the heat and lights.
