AustinB...really nice people, this what you can't find in Maine tour books, or in a real-estate home listing! Until we get up there and experience it or hear this feedback from Mainah folks like you guys here on CD forum!
Retired bender..."Beals" , now I did read that part in tour books, and a story related to me by my buyer agent just yesterday, one of the homes I am considering has beautiful shorefront views across mason bay road, but is not shorefront owned nor ROW, views are not blocked by a home in front of it, I asked the agent who grew up on Beals herself about concerns that. Home could be built in front of this listing and she told me the story behind the empty wide open lot. Seems, the ocean front empty lot is opened by a gentleman named Beals , apparently there are many folks named Beals in Jonesport. He is friends with, possibly even related family of this Mr. Beals lot owner, and he promised and wrote in his will that this lot shall not be built on out of his friendship and commitment to the owners of the listed home. Sadly, this is an estate sale (have seen a lot of that in Maine, its a very sad reality) been in the same family a very long time. Now whether or not the adult children of lot owner Mr. Beals respect his wishes is an unknown, I recognize this. But all this info is to Retiredbender's point, Joneport is equated with Beals.
