Is Farmington as boring as it sounds? I'm considering pursuing a Creative Writing degree there at the University of Maine.

I'm half black "Mulatto" if you prefer. How cultured is Farmington (Hip).

Thanks...

Any place is only as boring as one chooses to make it. You might wish to go to the Orono campus instead.

We used to have a camp in Weld,..there are some beautiful places there, we loved Dummer's pond, you could walk out in the water for what seemed forever and never go past your waist and the water was warm. I did find it to be more "backwoods" than the eastern part of the state, but I do really like the Orono area, and find it to be more culturally diverse. Best to ya!!

Don't get me wrong, I love the woods and the nature and all that good earthy stuff, and I hear the Farmington campus is the best for creative writing...right? I just wonder if there are any cafes and at least sufficient hang outs. There should be, what with all the college kids?

Thanks

It has a Giffords Ice Cream place...what more do you need? Many of the kids I know go there to ski at Sugarloaf.
