My niece's belongings were lost in a fire December 23 in Bath. She, hubby, baby and both dogs all safe and sound. All other complaints flew out the window as we realized how trivial they were.

Usually the American Red Cross steps in to help with emergency housing after a fire. If for some reason the Maine chapter doesn't do that, here is the emergency housing website in Maine in case you or they don't have it. Perhaps you could let them know (did they lose their computer in the fire? if so, local li library can help_./

We all need to maintain an attitude of gratitude. We have so many reasons to be grateful and not just on Thanksgiving.--end of sermon -- No matter how bad we think things are at times, it seems they could always be worse and there always seems to be someone out there experiencing worse. They are still alive which is a big plus.

Service organizations at the local high school may also be willing to help. If the family is affiliated with a church, the parishioners should be willing to help. Nothing wrong with everyone jumping in to offer assistance. I hope the shed has some heat.
