Here's the average probability based on past data: http://hurricane.ncdc.noaa.gov/climaps/snow3513.pdf

And here's what the current snow depth looks like: http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/snow_mode..._Northeast.jpg

Personally, I wish it were 60 degrees

bah! you can have it...........just come down here, it was 65+ today. It's been really warm even for NC and it's kind of hard to get into the Christmas spirit with shorts on. We actually had a white Christmas last year ( and that's very rare ) and we had a blast! It was so beautiful....

Hopefully you guys will get a few inches of snow (at least those of you that want it )

We got a new snow-blower last spring.

That one dusting we got was just enough for me to see how well she throws gravel, how quickly she snaps shear-pins, and what size nail works best as replacement shear pins.

It has been mounted and ready to move snow for weeks now.

Just waiting.

I would like a white Christmas as I have not had one of those in eons.

Having said that, I would not like it to start snowing until Thursday at around 8:30pm when I am safely home for FOUR glorious, beautiful, wonderful, brilliant, fabulous, perfect, fantastic days off. (At LONG last...after 1 day off in the past 28...I am really, really, really looking forward to it.)

What would make that picture perfect would be to:

Be up here in Maine. (check)
Be okay with money. (check)
Have all my stuff done. (check)
Have time off. (check)
Have a white Christmas. (---)

So here's hopin!

Accuweather and Weatherbug show there's a chance of snow tomorrow night and Friday in Portland. We just may have a white Christmas this year!

I'll be in the Bangor area from December 27-30. Keeping my fingers crossed that a white Christmas is followed by a few days of higher than average temperatures so I won't need to put snow tires on till January!

Her4 in Corinth, at least, it's beginning to look like one of my favorite "old Mainahs" called it! But you still haven't shown your math, NMLM!

When I came to the Lincoln area in 1983 I proposed having a sled dog race in Lincoln. The service clubs bought some trophies and the race was scheduled for the middle of February. On Christmas Day, Mattanawcook Lake was wide open shore to shore. I thought about what I had done.

On race day about six weeks later there were 22 inches of ice on the lake and there were trucks all over the lake. Sometimes Old Man Winter sleeps in late, but he always wakes up.

I see a real thin layer of whiteness outside this morning. Though it might be just a thick layer of frost.

But it is white.
