The only cities in maine that have fairly "ghetto" parts, actual gangs(big or not),and huge out of state drug activity are Portland, Lewiston, Bangor, Sanford, and Biddeford.

That is really stretching the definition of 'gang'.

Kids who have never been in a city, who have never seen a gang, kids who only know of gangs from the music or TV they watch, and who want to mimic such a gang.

I find it hard to call such a group of lost kids a 'gang'.

I came from the city, i know what your saying, but its not like they arent rugged people because they havent seen these things.

i was born and brought up in portland maine. we are being SWORMED by gangs. but they are not from here. they are from boston and new york,los angelos, and Somalia . they come here because they can make more money off drugs and weapons and there lots of places to hide. i grew up in kennedy park in portland when it was all Italian/ Irish. now their are Somalian bloods, that jump out in front of people with a 9mm and demand all your money. it happened to me walking through my old nieghborhood, it is ghetto just because its not new york, its a ghetto. its low income but no more white live there, they are all homeless. there are things going on here that you people have no idea of.
