Molly...the paste has to be the pic's targeted url...it has to end in jpeg, gif will work too.

The pic has to be on a website like webshots or flicr to work or this forum..to make it real easy when you post the thumbnail in a post here and then click to view the larger size, right click the pic then click on properties, copy the url listed in the properties dialog box and paste that between the boxes.

For your deerisle pic it will look like this [img]https://www.city-data.com/forum/attachments/maine/7161d1188605208-photos-maine-pict0048.jpg[./img] I put the period in [./img] so it would not post as a pic so you can see the paste. Keep trying you'll get it.

Guess not. I am not very good at embedding images into forums. In fact, I rather stink at it. LOL

am trying again

thank you! I'm not giving up....but must say I'd rather be in a classroom of 20 bored 1st graders than in a room with one computer I have to make do something!! lol....I'm going geocaching today, and hope to get some more great pics to post....I'm going to start a picassa account, my best friend all ready has one, and I'm hoping that will make the process easier I've started pulling things into a folder for it....you know, separating the personal stuff out!

Maine is very beautiful!

I always thought it was from previous photos and documentaries I would see on the various cities. Plush greenery, beautiful lakes, nice old-style homes.

Thanks for posting those lovely pictures.

also be careful,,about seeing them on the road,, a nice doe was hit a couple hundred yards up the road ,,from my house,,made a heck of a mess,,must have been a big truck,,
anyways,,,elcarim,,i like kiddin with ya,
one thing about mainers is this,,,most of us,,at one time or another have run over something ,,,,either running , walking, or flying away (with a car)
your first road-kills,,,sting a bit,,,thinking,,,,those elusive ground hogs/woodchucks are fun to watch,,,but damn,,they arent too bright ,,when trying to cross a road, this applies for most of the wildlife in maine,(the squirrels and chipmunks, drive ya nuts,,they are doing an east-west dance in the middle of the road,,you have no clue where they are gonna dart at the last minute,,(you do your best not to hit them, but try not to swerve too much to endanger yourself) ,the real danger is the big bulky, moose,, outside of the moose you have a sporting chance,,,with most of the other wildlife,,and ,,,
i believe,,if you do happen to nail a deer in the road,,,you can keep it,, one of the few maine laws that make sense

and if you choose not to collect a roadkill,,we have very hearty crows everywhere,,,they are the road clean-up ..crew
Thanks! I would never, ever hunt anything (yeah, I'm one of those ), but I don't knock those who have grown up doing it either.
