I'm sure similar articles have been in some Maine newspapers, but I just saw this today:

Both are great news! Now let's remember where we should buy when we pick up our rolling pins.

I'll bet you could finagle a free rolling pin with the purchase of a yacht.

Skowhegan grist mill: (http://www.bangordailynews.com/story/Business/Skowhegan-grist-mill-The-best-thing-since-sliced-bread,156813 - broken link)

If we sit around waiting for a new governor or anyone else to rescue us we deserve to sit idle. Baldacci pissed off a lot of people in Washington County years ago when he told us at a small business conference that Washington County had to help itself. We got over it and admitted that he was right, and got on with business. I think if we stop making excuses, do our research and run our numbers and are willing to work for it, there are business opportunities out there that will bring more jobs to Maine. It might not be huge numbers but five here and 100 there and 50 some where else is better than nothing and makes a big difference to the people who get those jobs.

Fromwhat I hear the boat yard prospect has irritated a few politicians because they weren't involved in it. At least until they read the BDN story. Hey, when you help you can be involved. If all you do is offer lip service then expect to be given lip service back. Tough noogies.
