Firstly, thanks to all the Louisville posters for giving such great info!

I'm trying to get a spot for a trip to Kentucky. The trip will take place Sep 17-21. Plan to spend two days at Ft Knox and surrounding and two in Louisville. Just want to know what spots/festivals i GOTTA check out during that time. One definite thing i will check out is Old Louisville.

Any other ideas to enjoy my time away from DC? (hallejuah!!!!!!!!!!)

Well, that is when the Ryder Cup will be here. There will be thousands of tourists in town.

If you haven't booked a hotel, you may be out of luck. Rooms go for 1000 plus a night that week.

I would certianly check out downtown and the museums on west main, especially the Muhammad Ali, Frazier, and Slugger. I would check out Waterfront Park, Fourth Street Live, and make a visit to the Old Louisville visitors center and ask them to show you St James and Belgravia Court.

No doubt you cannot miss walking up Bardstown Road and Frankfort Avenue, and enjoying some of the diverse food options in the city as per my earlier posts. I think if you read my posts, you will get a good idea of what to do.
