I second this statement. And I've been told the same thing by countless others (completely un-prompted).

The people here are REMARKABLY insecure, and lack perspective because they've never seen anything else.

Unless you want to spend your time kissing the butts of overgrown high schoolers, I would NOT recommend Louisville.

As I said in another thread just now, I think your experience of the city and the friendliness of its residents depends more on the sub-culture/social circle/neighborhood/coworkers/community groups/friends/etc. you hang out with than it has anything to do with the city itself. My experience, and that of many of my transplant friends, has been completely the opposite from EE and Shabazz. I don't know how else to account for the diversity of experiences.
