My husband and i just purchased (yesterday) a wonderful old home in the Garden District of Alexandria, La to be used as a hurricane escape property (we live in N.O.). Does anyone know if there is a civic association for the Garden District? We'd like to contact them.

Alexandria Garden District : Home
The Garden District is, for the most part, a very nice neighborhood with some of Alexandria's finest homes. The main downside to it is its proximity to some dirty, high-crime areas. However, I rarely hear of crimes occurring within the nicer, central parts of the Garden District. I hope the website helps. I'm not sure of any civic associations. I did hear recently that Alexandria's Garden District is becoming a popular place among those displaced from New Orleans by Katrina.
