I don't know if CA people are moving to LA, but here in Oklahoma we have lots of Califorinans moving here!! I'm a realtor, and have sold MANY homes to people from CA. Our housing is a lot cheaper than most states. You can definitley get more for you money (and acreages) in OK then other markets. (We also get several people from East coast for the same reason.) I know several California's who have even became REALTORS in OK.
Just my 2 cents.

Shari

Not in NOLA, but close -- here on the Gulf Coast we've had a lot of Michigan transplants. Not many Californians, though.

I don't know about CA buying up property for cheap, but there are scads of newly formed companies (could be locals or out of towners) that are buying up houses to flip here in St. Bernard. I've seen tons of out of state licence plates since the storm, but I assume those people are either volunteers or here as contractors.
