I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona but I am visiting and thinking of moving to Alexandria to finish college. One thing I miss is salsa dancing that I did weekly in Phoenix. Does anyone know of people/places to socialize and dance latin or salsa within a reasonable distance of Alexandria?

Are there areas around here that have much of a Hispanic population?

Thanks!

I heard Forest Hill (down the road on US 165) has a significant Hispanic population due to the plant nurseries they have down there.

I found some info about local salsa classes so I thought I'd post it in case anyone is interested. There is a man named Don Jorge who teaches group lessons Mondays and Fridays at 7pm in Ball. From what he tells me the closest place besides his lessons to dance are on Saturdays at the Hilton hotel in Lafayette. The group sometimes plans trips down there together. If anyone is intereted in lessons or has questions, his number is 318-448-4589.
