Not Even Batman Gets a Pass - KNBC-TV- msnbc.com (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37490588/ns/local_news-los_angeles_ca/ - broken link)

Gee wiz, I just saw Batman the other day. I wonder what the little kids thought when they saw him being arrested.
I don't like being asked for tips either, but I have to say, I like seeing all of the characters on the Boulevard, with a few exceptions. People like getting their pictures with these folks, and most know it's etiquette to tip. If not, is the loss so great?

How sad.... i wish the city council would do something more productive like enforcing pan-handling laws downtown or in westwood! At least these costumed actors are performing and hamming it up for an audience who wants to be entertained.

I tried taking a picture of Sponge Bob one day. The guy saw me and turned away. I had no clue that I was supposed to pay him for taking a picure of the guy. I was 20 feet away from him and other people were near him. Everytime I went to take a shot he turned around toward the curb. Finally I noticed him looking at me, moving his two fingers together like he wanted me to pay. I could see it if one of my kids wanted a picture standing next to him, but that was not the case. If you want to give them a tip than go for it, but to make a big deal about it when they don't get a tip. Maybe they should try getting a real job.

I didn't know they asked for money? Must be a new thing.

I know if you want a picture with them, then you have to give them something, but I didn't know they were acting like your typical homeless. Not cool.
