normandie at hollywood blvd or normandie at santa monica blvd

sunset at hollywood blvd

neighborhoods across the street(east) of LA city college

Isn't there a map that details crime history somewhere on the web? Thank you in advance

they're not great areas, but not terrible either. they are all close to nice areas though. the sunset and hollywood locations are near los feliz and the santa monica location is near larchmont village.

Santa Monica/Wilton - Very crowded area with lots of apartments and heavily heavily latino. Close to some nice areas though.

Sunset/Hollywood blvd. - I like the walking distance to theater (Arclight) but again, there are some really cheap apartment buildings. Heavy latino and Russian immigrant population.

I live near Hollywood and Normandie and feel very safe in the neighborhood 24/7.

Unsafe things can happen in the safest of communities at any time, but when you are in an area with high traffic, convenience stores, gas stations and liquor stores, it can invite trouble.

Not the WORST area, but I would by no means consider it to be a decent or even OK area.

The Arclight's going to be a long walk from the corner of Hollywood and Sunset. You must have meant the Vista.

I'd consider that to be a decent area and safe when it comes to violent crime. Property crime particularly car break ins might be a problem but that's going to be true ANYWHERE in L.A.

I was actually thinking Hollywood and Vine.

You must have selected these areas based on price beause they are all in the same price range and I labelled them all sketchy for a reason. I used to live in or travel near these areas frequently, and I would feel okay walking around during the day but I wouldn't venture out a night unless I was driving and people knew I left the house and when I was returning. These areas are very dirty and cater to lower incomes. There are high populations of immigrants (legal and illegal) so there is very little English going on.

I would suggest going to craigslist.com and rent a temporary room for a month instead of getting into a year lease right away, stay here in a room and get to know which areas you are ok with then sign a perm. lease.
