I'm just kind of wondering what the current state of gangbanging is in Los Angeles these days. You don't hear much about it anymore, But you certainly hear about it in San Jacinto, San Bernardino, etc. You also see a lot of stories in Chicago and New York, but not so much Los Angeles proper anymore.

I know in the eighties and nineties it was more of a cultural thing, and a neighborhood thing, and im sure it still is but has society changed now? Is Los Angeles getting too expensive for that?

For the record, I miss the G funk music out of Los Angeles in the nineties, today's artists have no lyricism and quite frankly they suck

Check out Snoop Dogg's 2017 album Neva Left. Has some great G-Funk-era revival-type songs on it. Definitely a retro feel, and much better than Kenny G and Warren G performing regulate together, although that was kinda novel and fun in its own way.

Hoping a full-on West Coast G-Funk revival will break through for hip-hop soon, even with the younger artists. My favorite flava of hip-hop for sho!

^I will look that up. 90s west coast is the only rap music I can listen to.

The gang banging is not as prominent as it was in the 90s and early 2000s. Once in a while you'll see cholos, they probably figured out they would need jobs to keep up with the COL. Likewise, the lowrider scene is also not around as much.

I'm guessing being priced out over the years and gang injunctions had a lot to do with it.
There's still gangmembers and crime of course. But the current gangbangers probably look different than the ones of the past. You do see a lot of older guys that you can tell were in a gang back in the day they have the tats but now have legit jobs. Mostly old school cholo types as Hispanic population has mostly remained and increased.

It seems that small rural towns have become the new 'hood with towns that have never even heard the term "gangbanger" now getting Crips, Bloods, MS-13, and such taking over neighborhoods. This has been happening for some time now all over the United States.

More hidden. My neighborhood got raded years ago. The old heads went to jail and many are back. But they pretty much lat low. We still get taggibg once in a while. But not has much and we dont hear gunshots these days anymore. Theres still tag beafs where the rascals come and tag over tunerville.
But thats about it.

No one owns the streets when CCW happens.

17,000 dudes from Orange County are walking around LA legally armed. That means the average person owns the streets
