Hi I am looking to get a temp place for me and my grown kids and rents for an apartment seem do able in the palm neighborhood. Also I have found houses to rent around Whittier and just south of that. Does anyone have some input you could give me on these areas.

^uh...ok?

Why Palms and why Whittier? They are on opposite sides of Los Angeles. Do you work downtown?

Most of Whittier is fine. South Whittier is more working class, and so is north La Mirada. It's also very suburban.

Palms would be more compact, more people and more urban than Whittier. Palms is by Santa Monica (which gives you more things to do) and the beach and by a couple of big freeways. Whittier on the other hand is a bit more secluded and away from freeway access, which is a good thing and a bad thing.

I could afford it more in those areas. I do have some family in Westchester I would like to be able to get to wihtout a lot of trouble. Now its an hour and 1/2. I work from home so I am not worried about getting to work and my kids are moving home to get a degree so they just need to be able to get to a community college. I need safe and walk able. renting a house would be best because we have two small dogs but we could do an apartment. I would rather not go over 2000 a month but will do 2200-2400 if I have to. And yes easy to get to Santa Monica is what I was thinking with Palms. It would be great for things to do.

You see where it says under my handle "I am a dude", correct?

I just don't see why you think Whittier isn't cool. You make an assertion but give no reason why. We're supposed to be helping people on this site.
