I'm moving to la in February, and I'll be going to film school at Universal Studios. So I'm looking for places pretty close by (within 10 miles). I've been liking Burbank ever since I visited LA in August.

I was just wondering, is all of Burbank mostly safe? If not, where is the "cut-off" at?

Stay above Glenoaks Blvd. Overall, it is very safe by L.A. standards...

Note: It is little Armenia (Glendale and Burbank). Just something to consider. The area is very ethnic.

Try taking a look at the Oakwood apartments in Toluca Hills. They are located on the border of Burbank and across the street from the back lot of Universal Studios.

Armenians make very good neighbors. Most areas they live in are very low crime.

Burbank is no more ethnic than Beverly Hills.

im looking at no more than $950, since i wont be able to get a job as school is full-time.

oakwood is a little out of my price range, that was actually one of the first places i looked at, and the one the school recommends as parking at universal is $85 a month.

You are just going to have to look around. There are apartments on most of the major streets in Burbank.

One area to look would be on Hollywood Way (lots of duplexes and triplexes there too). You might find something less expensive there because it's an area with "competitive parking." (In other words, you'll need to find street parking with a lot of the apartments.)

Near Media Center is another place with a lot of apartments.

You need to check out the place where you are going to live if you are going further west. There are some areas that aren't very safe to live in.
