I wanted to know what is the differences between the ATT, Charter, Timer Warner Cable, and Dish Network's internet services and what is DSL and is DSL better than high speed or UVerse or WiFi internet?

I am trying to find the cheapest internet service because right now I am paying $53 from ATT UVerse 3.0 Mbps Pro which is the $53 a month. Can you guys give me some suggestions on getting the cheapest internet?

DSL sucks. WiFI internet sucks. ATT sucks. I've heard Verizon is great, but limited in reach. I pay $35 a month for Time Warner 15mbps. The people commenting after me will tell you how much it sucks too. But it works great, customer service lacks.

Well Time Warner isn't available in the 91201 areas. My dad says his relatives and other people pay around $14.99-$30.00 a max a month.

Buy. Their modems are trash and you won't get the speeds advertised if ya use them.

A modem or router is a device that bridges between your computer and the Internet service provider's cable.

The ISP will provide you with something to hookup a least one computer, they may charge you a monthly rental fee. That device may let you also use multiple computers and even wifi. You'll have to check with each company what they offer.
