Hi everyone....we will be attending the BCS National Championship game in Pasadena in January. Looking for some advice on the parking situation at the Rose Bowl. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

not much to say here. the only thing interesting I can add is that you'll most likely be parking on a golf course and that it's easier to enter/exit from the north of the stadium from the 210 freeway.

I never been to California but i remember watching the FIFA world cup final back in 1994 between Italy and Brazil. The game was held at the Rose Bowl. That place holds a lot of history and it's huge.

I wonder if it will be as crowded with cars (as opposed to the Rose Bowl game which has a California school this year and more potential of people driving down to SoCal). Since both teams are from the southeast, I think many will fly here and be part of a tour group/coach buses. Yes there will be many who will rent cars, but likely be with groups of others, as opposed to single motorists. I suspect media will take up available parking as well as room for tailgators.

Expect an extreme amount of traffic in and out because there are many one lane streets into the Rose Bowl. I remember it took me about 30 minutes to get mile out of there for the 4th of July. You can walk from the Metro Gold Line station to the Rose Bowl in 20-25 minutes or less 1.3 miles, or catch a shuttle bus at Parsons which is only a few minutes walk from the Gold Line Memorial Station. Go west on Walnut, right on Orange Grove, left on Rosemont (slight decline on Rosemont).

Getting into the area and finding parking isn't the hard part. Getting out is. Shuttle bus all the way.

Don't park in the bowl/arroyo unless you plan to stay there all day. Getting out will be a nightmare. Park in one of the lots around Old Town Pasadena and take the shuttle down to the bowl or walk down if shuttle lines are too long.
