Hello, my son and I live in the SF valley in LA. His school district (Canoga Park) is not so great that I've heard of. So he is applying for open enrollment.
We have to choose between Van Nuys High School and Grover Cleveland High School.

What are your opinions of these schools and which one would be the best? Why?

Those are all terrible. Van Nuys is probably the worst of the 3.

Your best bet if you have kids is to NOT live in LAUSD.

Have you looked at High Tech High?

When we toured Cleveland there a young pregnant girl walked past us on her way to class. It's very liberal and unstructured. They don't even use textbooks.

I believe Van Nuys has some schools within a school, but you'd have to look into that. I'd check out all academies, special programs, and SAS schools if your son qualifies.

Think about moving 17 miles west to Simi Valley.
