I have heard a few good things about UCLA's TFT School. USC's school is light years ahead though.

You really should consider USC School of Cinematic Arts. It is by far the best program in the country and of course, much more difficult to get into than UCLA. Are you already enrolled at UCLA?

Both film schools are superb, don't worry about the differences, such as USC having better bequests for its programs (the Speilberg building, Harold Lloyd theatre etc.) Both offer great production training, realistic assessments of the business, and insiders galore to help students. This being a "company town," the industry advisors at both universities will move heaven and earth to get their students informed and situated. UCLA's poster children are Coppola and Spheeris, USC's are Speilberg and Lucas. The myriad film history classes at both insure you are on a level playing field with film buffs such as the aforementioned directors with the knowledge of what came before.

I was photographing a film course seminar at USC last Friday, so I'm not as removed as my 30 years ago university days might imply. I loved taking UCLA film history classes when I was there in the pre-video/dvd Pleistocene!

They are both excellent schools. The two best in the country.
