Alright so I'mma move back to LA in 2 years, I'mma apply to USC law school, anyways, I spend my middleschool years in San Gabriel, before moving to South Central LA. Moved to Detroit for a little.

I like san Gabriel for all the shopping and Valley blvd and stuff. Alhambra is more of a traditional casa place, not condos like SG ( I know theres houses there, but lotsa condos going up). I know Monterey Park was the rich china-man's place before but do you think it still holds up as this? I dont like how its shopping center is close to ELAC either. I have a little girl whos going to be attending preschool soon so I wanted to know which area of the three you think is better for a fam. I like SG the most, Alhambra is doable, and MP is just cause I know it was the upper class so the schools might be better, but dunno if its still true.
My Daughter is half asian so racially I dont mind either place.

My white friend who's married to a Chinese-American likes up over in Monterey Hills. But he did say it's got that city vibe with lots of condos & renters, which could be a turn-off if your dream is surburbia.

When you're ready to move, look at homes and schools in all three and find a neighborhood you like. I wouldn't narrow it down any more than that at this point.

I grew up in Alhambra, on the border of Monterrey Park, near Granada Park (If you know where that is). MP is so close to East LA so some parts arent too great. Especially near ELAC college. But MP has a lot of nice parts too, mostly asian still.

I havent been to SG in a long time but what ive seen is a lot of older asians, and alot of hispanics.
Maybe Im just biased, but Id say look for a house in Alhambra! Especially the Midwick Tract Area. Nice quiet streets, family homes, just a nice place to raise a family
Look into some places in Pasadena!! Some areas are sooo nice , and great shopping
