Hi,

I have a potential job offer to work in Santa Monica. Unfortunately, there are two issues: first off, I'm in the Inland Empire area, so it's about 60 miles. Second issue: I have no car. Perfect combination, I know.

Anyways, after doing research, I discovered I can take the Metrolink from my area to Union Station in about an hour. Which is great. The problem is how to go from there to Santa Monica in, say, an hour or less? I'd prefer to avoid the Metro bus, due to constant stops.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the entire trip to, at best, 2 hours or so, so if anyone has a solution, that'd be great.

Thanks!

I don't think you would be able to get to Santa Monica within an hour from Union Station ... The best option for now is the Big Blue Bus #10, which is an express bus from LA to SM. Once they finish the light rail projects, you might have more options if they extend it to SM but BBB #10 is your best bet.

You could take the 720 bus down Wilshire. The 720 bus is part of the Metro Rapid fleet, which means limit stops and the ability to change streetlights to green. Not a bad way to travel, actually/
