Who is the better actor in your humble oppinion, Johnny Depp or Robert Downey Jr. ??? Also, which actor do you like better? I realize that it could be the same answer for both but I could see someone saying that Depp is a better actor and that they like Downey Jr. better or vice versa.

I wouldn't recognize either if I saw them in a lineup.

I like Depp more but they seem to be pretty level in terms of their acting. Depp has the cooky Jack Sparrow and Downey has Stark. I personally like Johnny Depp more.

Downey. Any straight guy who can act well enough to pull off a convincing homo role is an excellent actor. (referring to Home for the Holidays (1995) - IMDb)

Of course, we know now Downey was NOT acting when he played the drug fiend Julian in "Less Than Zero".....

I like them both. I love Johnny Depp when he has a role like the Mad Hatter or Edward Scissorhands though...

Personally, I find Johnny Depp kind of irritating. I joke that when his manager says "I have an AMAZING roll for you," he replies "Great. What kind of hat can I wear?"

That being said, I still think he's a great actor.

I adore adore ADORE Robert Downey Jr. His comedic timing is impeccable. I don't understand why people always refer to an actor's dramatic roles to illustrate their point on an actor's abilities. I think GOOD comedy is much harder than drama and RDJ effectively pulls off both.

So, yeah, RDJ all the way!
