Public school districts not important at all.
Not low income, not wealthy.
Safe but not paranoid.
Fun park(s) with playground nearby a bonus.

Best possible commute to Rosemead.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Uh...I'd live in Rosemead. Doi!

Rule of thumb in LA. Live where you work. There is nothing wrong with Rosemead. Or you can live in Monterey Park. I don't know why most of these people are suggesting Pasadena. That's stupid. No one is obviously thinking about rush hour traffic.

Does this mean you are going private or home schooling?
If private, have you found private schools you like? What about living near them?

Even if I wasn't going to consume the tax dollars I spent for government schools, I'd still want to live near where there are good schools: probably safer, probably more stable, probably more likely to retain property values, probably favorable peers.

With that, it looks like anywhere directly between South Pasadena and Arcadia has great schools and it is close to Rosemead.

I agree with Charles, if you can afford the homes in Arcadia or Temple City, that would be my first choice, followed by Pasadena or So Pasa. (So Pasa and Arcadia are both pricey) You say public schools are not important, that does give you a much broader range, but remember, resale will be affected by the schools as well. I would not buy in Rosemead under any circumstances. It isn't all bad, but I just think you have too many better choices.

It's funny because 5 years ago, I would have agreed with Arcadia or South Pasadena but I think those places are becoming less safe than they used to be. So IMO, the lines between Rosemead, Temple City, Monterey Park and Arcadia/S. Pasadena are becoming less visible. All my opinion of course.
