Yes, I was refering to the area along Wilshire Blvd. K-town can be a bit scary further southward along Vermont. The Vermont/Wilshire seems to be the center of gentrification. Having the Red Line there is a bonus. Wilshire Blvd. is also one of the main veins to get around the city.

Still the area can be spotty. When I left, McArthur park was still a bit shaddy, though there seems to be some nice apartments around McArthur Park. Between McArthur Park and Downtown there are also some areas that would be best avoided. As for Downtown living, I know the Medici apartments are really nice. They are just off the 110 and Figueroa. However, there tends to be a handful of USC students that live there (dont know if thats bad or good for you). They have also set up some new high rises out there since I left, so I dont know the specifics.

The actual intersection of Vermont and Wilshire is fairly nice, but I mean go a couple blocks up and down and it's scary. The area around 3rd and Vermont and to the west and east is not safe.
