What say you guys?

I've used USAA for ages. They are wonderful, with one exception - there are no branches.

My current set up seems cumbersome .... I've got a simple Bank of America checking account, which allows me to deposit checks/cash into an ATM, then transfer the funds digitally to USAA. I have direct deposit set up into USAA, but I get a handful of personal checks every month. I've played with USAA's photo/scanner deposit thing, but I'm not a huge fan.

I think I've outgrown USAA. Their main claim to fame (with me at least) is their customer service. I've been realizing, recently, that I don't really need customer service. I do everything on line .... i can't remember the last time i needed to call into the bank for any reason.

USAA also doesn't have the greatest online banking interface (B of A's seems to be pretty good).

My first thought it to just transfer everything to B of A, but i've just never gotten that warm-fuzzy feeling from them.

Any suggestions??

EDIT .... bricks and mortar

Does your employer have a credit union? That's the first place. Otherwise, some highly regarded local banks are Farmers&Merchants and, if you live within their membership area, Southland Credit Union.

As far as the major banks, Chase(formerly WaMu) and Wells Fargo probably have the most branches. Wells has a web interface that will do most anything you'd like.
