It's that time of the yr again! The LA county fair is all month ending on Oct 3rd. I've ben going 2-3 times a yr for numerous yrs. Did anyone go yet this yr or planning to? I'm going this evening & will probably go a 2nd time bef it's over.

I heard there's big changes this time from past yrs. I heard it's more condensed & arranged differently, so I'll be excited to see if I like it better.

I went to the Fair two years ago and really enjoyed it. The horse racing and music performances are great as well as the rides and food. I even like visiting the farm animal sections to look a pigs, chickens and stuff. Have you ever taken the overhead tram ride?

It's arranged differently, not better or worse. They no longer have a huge outdoor market place like they had in years past. Dont seem to have as many thrill rides. The livestock area was nice, it was actually amazingly clean and as smell free as you could hope for. My kids liked the petting zoo much.
Parking is still a huge ripoff. The morons who run the fair should realize that more people would come if parking were free or at least reasonable.
I know quite a few people who stay away because the whole fair is quite expensive for a family.
The food has gotten nuts expensive. They actually charge about $6 for french fries.
I went last saturday and it wasnt nearly as crowded as years past, I dont know why.

I try to avoid big crowds as much as possible, so for me, the less people the better. I try to go to high-crowd areas on the weekdays if I can. If it's not that crowded even on Sat, it should be very good on weekday nights!
I love the shopping/walking through the vendors in the bldgs & the food the best. The various exhibits are good too. I'm paying $5/person to see that Human Body exhibit. The parking is outrageously high though.

I've saved up my appetite all day to eat the good food tonight!

Yes, I remember when they still had that. I rode on it a few times.
I wish they hadn't closed up the Corcodile Potatoes & the TOad in the Hole Pizza places. Those were my favorite eating places out of the whole thing!

Went to the OC Fair instead. Who wants to drive all the way out to Pomona and deal with things like the 57/60 interchange?

bhcompy, I live about 20 min from the Pomona fair, so I feel te same way about going all the way to the OC fair. I like the Pomona fair better anyway, which I'm glad it's the closer one to me!
