I'm a little confused - I hear Canoga Park is terrible and that Woodland Hills is great...

I've found a decently priced house for rent on Dolorosa St. (parallel to Burbank Blvd, between Shoup and Fallbrook).

What's the general consensus on this area? Is it safe and upscale? How close is it to the so-called "gang infested" area of Canoga Park?

Thanks!

That's a safe area, very close to ventura blvd. and far enough away from canoga park.

Not a bad location at all. I would say it's safe and very little to worry about.

These two towns may be next to each other but you know what they say... one side of the tracks can be really nice and there is the "other side of the tracks" Besides, Conoga Park is not exactly that bad of a place. (As far as I know) The area where there could be problems (gangs?) is quite a ways North of where your asking.

In my opinion I would say this is a good area. It's not an amazing or super nice area but it's not bad or negative in any way.

That is a good neighborhood. No problems.

And I would like to add, not all of Canoga Park is bad.

Canoga Pk has some sketchy areas as others have pointed out. Woodland Hills seems pretty safe everywhere but probably a little more expensive than most areas of Canoga Pk. Keep in mind that both cities are located in the hottest section of the San Fernando valley [summers can be extremely hot].

Depends on what is meant by "better".

Historically, "south of the boulevard" has been more expensive, larger lots, open space, more custom homes, views, etc.
