Heading westbound on the service road at exit 60, you have 3 lanes, 1 left turn, 2 going straight and the right lane is for turning right and going straight. The newly painted arrows indicate this.

However at Ronkonkoma Ave., they changed that to be a right turn only a center lane going straight and a left turn only lane. They took away the going straight on the right most lane. The painted arrows indicate this.

Nobody is following this because everyone is used to going straight or turning right on that lane. But if they enforce that, its going to make for a good traffic jam.

call NYSDOT. Or you could send an e-mail to the newsday community watchdog and see if they can inquire about this.

Or you could just complain about it here.

You are right, As I was in the middle lane, I was surprised to see the guy to my right slow down and pull up behind me.... then I realized that the lane on the right was a right turn only lane.
But.... when the light turned green, I saw vehicles just go straight thru' the light from the right lane.... obviously its just what New Yorkers do when they are asked to obey rules, but I think it must be a mistake by the DOT.
