If you call Cablevision about the fiasco yesterday (no abc, unable to get the free on demand movie offer), they will credit your account $10.

They are only doing this for people that call in to complain.

Surprised this has not already been posted.

Well if you call up and say I hear you are giving a $10 credit of course they are not going to. Basically what probably happened is the CSRs were directed to give a $10 credit if someone was really pissed off or going to cancel or something. If cablevision gave everyone a $10 credit it would cost them 30 million.

I got a $10 credit.

We have 2 boxes. When they offered the free movies, my wife and I each tried to get a movie (she wanted to see My Sister's Keeper, and I wanted to watch Moon). We were unable to get them on Sunday night.

Yesterday I called and explained to them what happened. They were only going to offer a credit for one, but I pointed out how long I have been a customer and get the top package, so the women gave me credit for 2 movies...which we watched last night.

I got mine. It's not often that you get something for free from Cablevision.

I'm not an idiot. I didn't say I heard you were giving away a credit. I said I missed out on the red carpet and I didn't even get the email for the free movie either! She CSR was basically like go f yourself.

yep. CSR was a jerk so I advised that I was going to pursue another cable company if I didn't speak to a supervisor. (I was courteous). I was transferred to disconnect, put on hold, then rewarded 10 bucks to use towards movies or my bill. The guy was polite and explained that the system was overloaded and customers would be compensated.

Thank you! I was totally polite and the CSR was rude. My husband did want to watch "the hurt locker" too but the box just froze. CSR said she had no record of the order and then my kid was screaming and I said forget it.

I actuall just got something from Fios offering $79 for the triple play with no contract so I might just switch.
