Any feedback on the music program at Connetquot HS...? They seem to have a really great program; moreso than I have been able to find at other Suffolk County high schools. Am looking to relocate from West Babylon.
Where are you getting your info from? Ward Melville beats it hands down regarding the music program. Particularly in the choral program, the orchestra, the band, and wind ensemble - basically all aspects available to a student - and yes, they also have instrumental jazz, and are quite strong in vocal jazz as well. Why don't you go to the concerts at both high schools this winter and sit in the audience - it's free at both and do a comparison. I'll bet you'll agree with me in the long run.
Three Village is extremely strong in music, although I suspect parents paying for private lessons boosts the reputation quite a bit, as well as the quality of the end product. Connetquot regarding music is so-so. No worse and no better than any other average high school. Maybe a couple of students are accepted into All State from Connequot if it's a good year for them; Ward Melville usually sends anywhere from around 6 to 12 students each year to All State.
