Hi Guys-
I'm moving to Nassau county and I have a small problem. The back door (entry) has glass in the door and I want to replace it with a solid door that can't be easily broken in to. Any ideas on how much this would cost and would you reccomend any particular company? I'm looking for a simple, white door with no glass.

Thanks very much.

I heard Lowes and Home Depot sell doors and have people inside that know stuff about them.

Call a local contractor that lives in your town. Being a neighbor tends to get the job done well and keeps the money in the community.

Don't know of any companies or how much it would cost, but if you have a door frame that doesn't fit the standard door size that are sold in stores, they have to special order them and that usually drives up the cost. You might want to go a size smaller, build up the frame around the doorway to make the door fit. This way is cheaper and you can still get a good door.

If you already have an alarm installed in the house, you can also add a glass-break sensor to the system that will go off if the glass in the back-door is broken. This might be cheaper than installing a new door. An audible glass break sensor could also cover some of the nearby windows.
