Isn't the beach public property? Why do they insist on charging $10pp to get on?

AFAIK every town that has access to the ocean has to provide free access.. is this true?

(It's that way to keep out-of-towners out. You could buy a season pass per person at a discounted rate, but what is actually offered beach side to want go there for the day even at a discounted rate.)

--- Not true.

Long Beach just is not the same as the "old days". Pitty.

If I'm not mistaken, you're allowed below the high tide line...you just have to figure out how to get there.

Tell them that in Greenwich CT. I heard they won't allow outsiders on their beach at any price.

It's ridiculous. I think Westhampton Beach is even worse, the beach is off limits to non-residents at any price. I go to the beach to get away from this overzealous BS. Thats why I go to Fire Island.
