When did this become a popular pastime again?
Everywhere I go on LI from eastern suffolk to western nassau stop signs, overpasses, buildings, fences & any other stationary obect is 'tagged'.
What the hell is wrong with these kids?
Long Island is becoming uglier than ever & the police don't seem to care!!!

Quite often its just a few kids who are doing much of the "work". So you just need a few bad apples to move to an area - and it looks like the whole neighborhood is becoming a dump when it really is not.

Some of these "kids" are actually in their 20s - sometimes in their late 20s. Maybe someone should tell them to grow up?

I noticed they tagged the Friendly's on 25a in Miller Place! I hope this isn't a trend back toward the 70s and 80s.

Not that I condone vandalism, but there were two incidents in my neighborhood -- one was committed by an adult who had enough with people blowing through the Stop signs on the corner.

In the middle of the night, they painted the two signs green and painted GO! on them. The signs were replaced by mid day. They were the talk of the community for weeks. People were slowing down for a little while after that, but once again, the signs are STOPtional.

The other incident involved someone placing stickers which read 'Paris Hilton' under the word STOP on the signs.

I just like putting red dots on the noses of the "Deer X-ing" signs.

They don't have ANYTHING else to do, and their parents are absent, and don't care.

WHY should anyone else "stick their necks" out about this ?

Where have you been hanging out?

I don't notice it anywhere (although that doesn't mean it isn't around).

Now that you have mentioned it, I will see if I find any.
