I know. I got a speed ticket in Flushing last year about a week after this was implemented. Driving home from a Mets game at 11:30pm on Saturday Night on 25A. My argument was how would I know this if I lived in Nassau. It doesn't matter. Apparently, it was posted somewhere.
The school zone speed limit signs in Nassau say “school days, 7am to 6pm. The NYC ones don’t say that.
I’m not saying NYC is right, it’s an obvious cash grab.
But there aren’t enough police to monitor every school zone and I see people speeding through the zone in front of my kids’ school DAILY during drop off times (between 7:30 and 8:30). I’ve complained to the police, and then they monitor for a day or two after which it’s back to selfish people who lack self control speeding with impunity.

I don't go to my favorite bakery in the Bronx anymore because there are speed cameras all over the place, another reason to stay home besides covid, terrorism, illegals, crime, etc.
I feel sorry for the businesses, they must be losing money because the government is making it so hard for us to even want to go out anymore. Thank goodness for Amazon and Costco home deliveries.

I was visiting my sister in Old Brookville. My flight was out of Laguardia. Me and my wife went for some Chinese food on Northern Blvd in Great Neck. We decided to go down Northern Blvd to the Cross Island Pkwy. As soon as you hit the Queens border traffic slowed down to a snails pace. Everyone is afraid of getting a speeding ticket or a red light ticket. Just like anything else they take things to an extreme. Is it really about safety? Or is it about the revenue that it generates. Just another hidden tax.
I just got a school zone speed ticket on a Sunday afternoon on Union Tpke by the Queens / Nassau border. Ridiculous.
How much was it? Mine was 250.00 in Huntington. I did not see the bus as I was passing it on NY Ave because it was a small bus that was pulled over on the side. I was busy listening to my GPS so I could find where this doctors office was. my husband was pissed but he got over it in a couple days

It is a "stupid" tax. Near where I live the LIE exit no one even makes a right turn on red anymore even though it is legal. You get that one tickets revenue and you'll never get another one from that person. I can't even see how they make money anymore because traffic is always backed up.
The people who blow through red lights and kill people are people who are drunk, car thieves or other types criminals. Red light cameras do zero to stop things like that. If you've stolen a car you certainly don't care if that car owner gets a red light ticket. It's the kind of nickel and diming that drives people on the edge to snap, but no one in government or law enforcement cares or thinks about those kinds of things.
Have you heard we are involved in two wars? Have you heard our southern border is wide open and 60,000 unvetted migrants are staying in NYC?
Did you hear the chances of terror attacks here have risen dramatically?
It's hard to speed in the Bronx, it's so crowded, lol. What if I had to speed up to avoid an accident, I'm going to get a speeding ticket? I had a similar experience with a red light camera, I didn't go through an intersection with a bus in front of me to give him room to pull over to the bus stop. Because I hesitated, the light turned red when I started moving, and I ended up with a ticket. I went through an arbitrator who looked at the video, but he disagreed that I shouldn't get the ticket for giving the bus room to pull over so I paid it. Who needs all the extra stress of worrying about these traffic scams to make the city more money when riding just 15 minutes from your house to go shopping?
