Lol @ everybody butthurt at that Neo-Nazi comment section being shut down.
The Newsday comment section was up there with Stormfront. If there was a story that so much as involved a minority then they would be *flooded* with racist comments (but of course the white perps would be treated as just "confused", "misguided" or in just in need of help).
Have whatever opinion you want and lean as "right-wing" as you please but if you can't be civilized about expressing your speech then maybe that privelege shouldn't be for you..
I take it you read Stormfront, otherwise how would you be able to make the comparison?
This may be a coincidence but there was a Newsday story about a fatal one vehicle accident and someone sarcastically commented that the tree must have jumped in front of the vehicle. The deceased's sister than commented angrily back to that comment. An hour later both comments were deleted and then a few hours later all comments were "temporarily on hold" and have been ever since. Maybe that was the final straw for Newsday.

Could have been. I recall seeing something very similar a little while back. Someone made a terrible comment about someone that had been killed in an accident and a relative saw it and was (of course) very upset.
There's really no reason now to even go to Newsday. The comments were the only section worth reading. One gets more information about Long Island just by coming here and most times the journalistic integrity is better.

I once had a conversation with Carl Bernstein who said Newsday was the best tabloid format paper out there. I wonder what he’d say now.
