We are really lucky to live in such a wonderful place called Valley Stream.
We are a friendly and welcoming community.
We live in a community where we know our neighbor's names.
We still great each other on the street and say hello to one another.
We proudly display the American flag and take pride in our homes.
On any given day you can drive by and see someone tiding up their property or making some kind of improvement.
We care about those who live in our community. We have clothing drives and food drives to help those in need.
We have churches, temples and mosques to name a few.
We respect each other's cultures and religions.
Our Village is always finding ways to improve our quality of life.
Our community shares so many wonderful events together, Our Community fest,
4th of July fireworks show, Memorial Day parade, Village Winter Fest, Haunted Halloween, The Youth Council's pumpkin painting, Halloween costume contest, and Easter egg hunt. Our Boy Scouts and Girls scouts enjoy a special weekend at their annual camporee on the village green.
Our kids can join the Valley Stream baseball league or Soccer Club, the boy scouts or the girl scouts, the sea rangers, the Green Hornets or the twirlers, once again to name just a few.
We have families that have been here for generation after generation and those just starting their own families.
We have great business' that support our community. Some have been here for many years and some brand new but all special to us. We are glad they took a chance opening their business' in our great town.
We have some of the most beautiful parks ANYWHERE right here in Valley Stream. We have a great pool complex and mini golf. Our dogs even have their own place to hang out!
We have terrific schools because we are lucky to have strong educators who care about our kids and the community they teach in.
Our PTA's are the best of the best because the parents and relatives involved care and give some much of their own time and energy to help every child.
This is just a small list of all the great things we have in Valley Stream.
Please remember this when you hear the helicopter above or read a negative story in the paper. Negative things happen everywhere but I think we are fortunate to have so many more positive things to look back on then a few negative things.
Valley Stream is an amazingly beautiful & diverse community. People come together everyday to help one another. We have excellent schools and caring people. If you don’t live here then you would have no idea how special a place it is.
What I want for Christmas is a Red Ryder BB Gun with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time. I think that everybody should have a Red Ryder BB Gun. They’re very good for Christmas. I don’t think that a football is a very good Christmas present

Since we're discussing specialness, you're a very special boy, Karl.
