What are your thoughts on the winners and losers yesterday? What do you think contributed to the results? What do you think will change on LI?

Dems flipped Town of Hempstead after 100+ years of Repub rule. That was a shocker. I didn't think it was statistically possible. Guess Santino is no Kate!!

Bet there are a whole bunch of ToH employees scared to death. Facebook, for better or worse, really does inform the public, sometimes real news, often fake. Santino got exposed on all the local town pages. Curran looks like the real deal. Everyone I’ve spoken with that knows her personally have nothing but great things to say about her history of serving the public.

I think this was the biggest news wow! Unfortunately she will probably serve one term and it will go back to the way it was.

Curran wasn’t a big surprise, coming off of a terrible GOP county exec that was indicted in office, I’m actually surprised it was so close. It’s an open question though how much she will be able to get done with a GOP controlled Legislature.

I am disappointed about Martins. I think he was the more experienced, stronger candidate. It was very close, but I feel the low voter turnout, bad weather and the previous corruption problems hurt him. I guess time will tell just how well Curran will do.

Can’t believe Saladino in Oyster Bay was voted back. Guess nothing will change there with corruption.

Sini won the DA spot in Suffolk. Perini would have just been Tom Spota on steroids. A former employee and loyalist of Spota so what would really change other than his title and pay grade. What did he do to fight the corruption and scandals when he was there for years. NOTHING!

Al Graf the former Wells Fargo customer service rep who tried to be a judge got destroyed in a landslide. Amazing the nerve some people have running for a public position without any relevant qualifications at all. Almost as funny as the guy who ran for Suffolk DA that builds and sails boats.
