Just for a email from Slomins Black Friday deal.

$2.79 a gallon and a service contract for $150 which includes cleaning and then up. Seems pretty good based on what COD is right now.
Solomon’s was 2.89 and service 150 in July so that’s a good price it seems in these circumstances. I ended up staying with my current delivery service and contract because they beat it after I got a written estimate.

My boiler is 20 plus years old so I need the contract for peace of mind. If not I would do cod before anyone suggest that.

3.04 ouch!

$2.64 cash or $2.69 credit per gallon for +200 gallons is the lowest on COD fuel right now.

2.69 is insane. I pay an extra 5 cent a gallon with my automatic delivery and service contract. If cod goes over my lock in price I did great this year.

Does anybody have a good service company that can come out same day for a repair job? I am looking at the COD prices right now and I am dreading what the Petro renewal price will be. Will likely have a 4 in front to start. This is like the ultimate peak pricing.

Might finally decide to go COD. My renewal is always in the dead of winter which makes things difficult. Maybe leave Petro and come back in 6 months as a new customer (summer). Petro just did my tune up so I am good there. I have newer equipment (System2000 boiler), but still want to have a service company ready to call just in case. I went to codfuel.com, put my zip code in and got George Hafner Oil Burner Service. Seem to have OK reviews and can come out same day per the website?

ETA: $4.17 was their first offer for renewal. lol, negotiated down to $3.869, then down to $3.579, then down to $3.429, then got premier service plan from $375, down to $299, down to $249, down to $229 and then down to $99 as I bought the new equipment from them a few years ago. I am still getting raked over the coals but I have so many other priorities in life and these guys always seem to make it good enough where it's just not worth the hassle to save a few bucks a year. They are also going to top me off at the end of the month on the last day of my old pricing which was mid 2's. It is what it is.

They get you either way. Either by discounting the oil price, but charge a few hundred for a contract. Or, a “Free” oil contract & charge more for oil.
