Does anyone know which one is cheaper? I think Stop n Shop, but I never had the time to statistically compare them myself.

when I shop at Stop and Shop (say that three times fast) , I spend 50 bucks and come home with three or four bags of food. At KK it's usually two or three bags of food for fifty bucks.
KK is very high priced on produce (Stop and Shop recently lowered its produce prices) . I do like the deli at KK better though.
Stop and Shop also has pretty decent store brands for cereal ,cookies, etc. at great prices. I like most of their cereal more than the expensive ones (General Mills, Post, etc.)
IMHO, Stop and Shop has better prices overall.

Stop & Shop compares favorably against anybody else but ShopRite. And even that's depending on which ShopRite you go to, and what you get.

Of the two, I prefer Stop and Shop even though King Kullen is closer to my house. KK has some price leaders to get you in the store and I do take advantage of those, but their produce and their ice-cream, in general, is more expensive. I generally factor in the cost of gas when deciding where to shop.

I think it depends on location. For example, the King Kullen in North Babylon has prices much higher than the one in Lindenhurst. The Stop and Shop in Deer Park has prices higher than the one in West Babylon.

I prefer Shop Rite --- their prices are great, they double coupons (most stores do), and right now, they're having their semi-annual Can-Can Sale! Woo Hoo!

When Stop & Shop first came to LI (about 12 years ago), their prices were excellent and they had a great coupon policy. That was ONLY because they kept the Edwards policies and prices while people got used to the stores. After a few months, they tossed all the Edwards policies and their prices went through the roof. I only go to S&S for their deli department and that's only once in a while. While there, I will always check out their prices and they are ridiculous. Many items cost at least 1/3 more than other stores.

I find Stop & Shop to be less expensive than King Kullen and Waldbaums to be better priced all around.

I get this thing called a weekly circular from stop & shop, walbaums, KK and best yet. Then I read it. That way I know what to buy in which store before I leave. For bulk I shop at costco. Six kids will do that to ya.

I love Stop & Shop.... but Shop Rite is better by a mile. Shop Rite has the best prices and selection, IMO. And they both have Boar's Head, so you can't go wrong if you like deli.

I think I've been in a King Kullen twice and I found the store to be filthy and expensive.

Love their can-can sale!!

UGH I miss Shop Rite!! I can't tell you how many times I've walked out of there with a cart full of groceries for $50 or less. Between their excellent prices, and even better sale prices, plus they sometimes give you those print out coupons at the register for your next visit, you can save so much!!

They have a hazelnut spread - their own brand, made in Italy. It is to die for!!!!!! Better than Nutella, better than anything else I have had outside of Europe. My Mom gets it for me everytime I go home to visit.
