Have you guy's ever noticed this? I've never seen a sign anywhere else in the US with kilometers on it.

That's at the end of the Northern State Parkway off ramp, right? That's actually been there for years. I always wondered the rationale for that, since there aren't any other signs like it in the area.

I haven't up this way in a while, but for the longest time, the NY Thruway near Syracuse had some signs with kilometers as part of an experiment to convert, or something like that. I think the last time I was in the 'Cuse was 2008, or so.

It's the government's secret program to finally convert US to the metric system like the rest of the world so they're starting it slowly - road signs, food labels, etc... Luckily soda is already in liters so that was a good start already

Nah, it's just because there are a lot of wealthy foreigners living and visiting on the north shore.

But why only at the LIE/NSP off ramps? Seems like they'd be more spread out.

I wonder if that Champlain NY sign would not confuse people or give some of then an excuse for speeding . But, Officer... (Max speed 105 kph).
