I'm curious abour safer areas in Suffolk either on the North Shore or South shore or near the Long Island Expressway. I know that place is like Riverhead and Shirley get a bad rap. I also know that Amityville and Central Islip are also pretty bad or at least not so good areas. I'm curious on what the safest areas in Suffolk are.

Move anywhere.

For the most part, your only in danger if you involve yourself in illegal activities or flaunt wealth in a poor neighborhood. You may hear a couple of situations involving ppl who didn't fall into one of those two categories but they are extremely rare.

Can you open up your search area a bit? I think your parameters are too narrow.

Your safe anywhere, the federal circuit courts have stated that violence is imaginary outside the home. So just spend a lot of time out of the house.

But seriously, outside of some areas (Brentwood, CI, Gordon Heights, Coram, etc) you are should be ok.

In your price range (as stated in multiple previous posts), you're mainly going to be looking in the not-so-nice areas of Long Island.

The idea is to find the nicest house you can.

Also, there are other threads on this board regarding this exact issue if you use the search function.

I think most of the suffolk is pretty safe. Prob a lot easier if you ask which area is not safe.
