We are thinking of relocating to the plainview old bethpage school district but wondering if it's better to live in plainview or old bethpage. How are house values, lot sizes, demographics, etc? Which location is generally nicer?

OB is quieter and has the larger lots generally speaking. It is also more driving from the main stuff like schools, the popular strip malls around town, and the highways. You would be closer to Rt. 110 / Farmingdale though.

Both are nice , but OB is much quieter. Do you like quiet, or would you rather see people out and about? The lots are a bit bigger, and has a very suburban feel. The OB elementary school is beautiful, you should drive by and check it out. There is less inventory in OB so I'm not sure how it goes as far as getting a decent deal on a home. GL!

OB is quieter and nicer. I've lived in both towns and I like OB better. Plainview is like a step down from OB.

Plainview is still very nice! I could never afford either town, but I would actually prefer Plainview. There's more things around, more stores, more restaurants, more people... it just seems like a friendlier place.

Based on how fast Old Bethpage houses are selling, I doubt anyone is concerned about this.

OB landfill is a potential for concern related to drinking water, not really the plume:
