Anyone know a good barber in the Levittown area? Right now I go to Gappy's for a quick and dirty cut, but sometimes I want a better cut. When I used to live in Jersey (don't hold it against me, not a jersey native!)) I went to this old Italian guy who literally would take 45 minutes to cut my hair. He'd shave the back of my head, give me a shave with an old style straight razer (the 'throat cutter' kind if that helps), would apply various oils and creams to the face and hair, all the while chatting up a storm.

Anything like that here that someone can recommend?

I used to live in Levittown and went to Gappy's for exactly what you said - a quick and dirty - but would travel to Oceanside for a good haircut. My old neighbor used to swear by Dave in Levittown Barber Shop (near the post office on Gardiners) if you want to give them a shot. Also, if you don't mind travelling a bit, try Telstar on Merrick Ave in North Merrick. Dino is my barber, but there are two other guys. They don't usually take walk-ins though.
